How Do I Get An STI?
No one wants an STI (Sexually Transmitted Infection) or an STD (Sexually Transmitted Disease). Know the risk. You could be at risk for an STI if:
- You have had sex with one or more partners
- Your partner has had sex with one or more partners
- Oral and anal sex will also pass STIs as well as use of fingers or sex toys. You do not have to have vaginal sex to receive an STI.
Many STIs have no symptoms, but left untreated they can destroy female organs and possibly even cause death. 50 – 80% of those infected don’t know it!
STI or STD testing is the place to start. You owe it to yourself and your partners. Crossroads Clinic can help. Our services are free and confidential. For free STI testing, all you need is your Health Care card.
